How to get your hair ready for your Wedding day

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Bridal Beauty Timeline: 12 months to shiny, healthy hair

So you’re engaged. Congratulations! Now it’s time to start thinking about how you want your hair to look on your big day. At Bridget Haren Hair & Beauty we have all the bases covered, but don’t leave it too late to get started.

Plan Ahead

If a good hair routine isn’t in your daily regime, now is the time to start; beginning with a great shampoo and conditioner/mask. Healthy hair starts at home. Ask in-store for the best recommendations for your hair.

Timeline

6-9 months

Book/schedule your appointment for your big day. Make sure you have your preferred stylist booked and confirmed for the morning of your wedding. Pre-booking is a great way of staying on top of things. Keep up with regular trims. With your wedding between 26-39 weeks away, you should have at least five haircuts between now and then.

If you love your heated appliances and turn to the straightener/heated curling tongs everyday – STOP!!! Styling irons and hairdryers can deliver up to 200 degrees Celsius heat which will dry out your hair. If you do use heated appliances, ask your stylist for recommendations for heat protection products.

4-6 months

Now is the time that your should be scheduling your makeup and hair trials for your wedding day. A great tip is to get both your hair and makeup trials on the same day so that you can get an idea of the finished look and decide on any changes you want. For your trial, bring pictures of the hair and makeup styles that you like. Also bring a picture of your dress, or even better; a picture of you in your dress so that your stylists and MUA can work to create the perfect look for you.

Make sure that you allow enough time for your trials, between one and three hours normally. Also bring your head piece or veil if you can so you can get the finished look.

It’s also vital that you keep up with any treatments for your hair between now and the big day.

One month

When your wedding is about four weeks away, it’s time for your finish trim and shape up. Make sure that all your appointments are booked and confirmed for the week leading up to the wedding.

2 weeks

Now it’s time for your final root touch up and any lights you may need refreshed. Also this is your opportunity to go through the running order with your stylist for the morning of your wedding, whether it’s at home or in the salon.

Remember, if your stylist is travelling to you, make sure that they have detailed directions and contact information for the morning of the wedding.

1-2 days before

At Bridget Haren Hair & Beauty, we like to treat our brides to a blow-dry the night before the wedding. A good blow-dry can hold a style better and give better texture to work with the following morning.

We also recommend a deep conditioning treatment at this stage to give the final shine to your hair and ensure it’s in the best possible condition for your wedding day.

The Day

It’s here, your wedding day. Today all you have to do is enjoy it! We are the professionals and we are here to make your hair and makeup look the absolute best it can. So sit back, relax and let us make you a bride. [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
